FTE Advanced Clinical Pharmacist
TMMT Advanced Clinical Pharmacist Support was provided to a general practice with a population size of approximately 6456 patients. TMMT provided the practice with a 1 x FTE Clinical Prescribing pharmacist to support the practice in the following areas:

A Significant impact was immediately noted in reducing practice workload and improved efficiency was achieved. The practice was able to benefit from having 1 x FTE Advanced Clinical Pharmacist to replace the workload of a 0.75 x WTE GP for nearly 1/3 of the salary cost of a GP. As well as reducing financial strain our pharmacist helped reduce medicines related workload by dealing with acute or repeat medication requests, clinic letters, telephone medication reviews and chronic disease reviews. The practice wait time for a routine GP/Clinician appointment was reduced from a long 3 week wait to under 2 weeks. Not only addressing more patients but reducing the strain and workload off the GP’s.
